Café

Innsbruck’s central and charming
meeting point

The Café

Whether for a quick coffee or a “Verlängerter”, a visit to the Café Central is worth it for the extraordinarily wide range of coffee specialities alone. The beautiful old-Viennese coffee house atmosphere, the central location and the excellent kitchen do the rest, so that as a guest you can fully enjoy your time in Austria’s westernmost Viennese coffee house at any hour.

This is what we mean by
coffee house culture

The culture café

Whether boldly, as a Tyrolean artwork on the coffee house wall, entertainingly, as a monthly jazz concert, or informatively, in the form of 67 different daily newspapers and magazines: at the Central, art and culture belong just as much as milk and sugar belong to coffee. Our weakness for culture shows itself in other places too. As a supporter of the Landestheater, the Innsbruck promenade concerts and the Taxispalais Kunsthalle Tirol, the artistic variety of Innsbruck matters a great deal to the Hotel Café Central 4*.

Tyrolean masterpieces

Art in the café

If as a guest in the coffee house you look beyond your plate, you will discover unique Tyrolean artworks on the walls that may not catch the eye all that much at first glance. The Café Central has always been regarded as the “second living room” of the Tyrolean art and culture scene, and many well-known artists such as Paul Flora, Dietmar Kainrath, Arthur Zelger, Max Weiler and Richard Kurt Fischer came and went here. That affection for the Café Central shows itself in many works dedicated by artists and makes the Hotel Café Central 4* a proud hotspot of the Tyrolean art scene.

Fair coffee enjoyment

Kaffee Nosko really is the best

With Kaffee Nosko, the Hotel Café Central 4* puts its trust in a small, fine Tyrolean family business that has been providing the finest coffee since 1751. Regular guests of the coffee house have long known that at the Café Central you can not only eat very well and linger over coffee, but also enjoy your stay with an entirely clear conscience. The coffee convinces not only through its delicious aroma: through the Fairtrade-certified varieties from KAFFEE NOSKO it also gives smallholder farmers better living and working conditions in the growing regions. In this way international fair trade is supported while the regional value added stays in Tyrol.

Falstaff Guide

AWARD-WINNING COFFEE HOUSE CULTURE

For decades our house has stood for quality, atmosphere and warm hospitality. This year the Café Central was awarded 90 points in the Falstaff Café Guide – a wonderful confirmation of the Viennese coffee house culture lived out in the middle of Innsbruck. This distinction confirms once again that tradition and passion are the best ingredients for enjoyment.

With great love of detail and a large helping of passion, our team creates a place every day where tradition and the spirit of the times meet. That this distinction reflects our passion for coffee house culture fills us with joy – and confirms our ambition to count among the best cafés in the country.

Every dish on our daily menu is available to take home too.
